Rotalux Octa softboxes are very popular among beauty and fashion photographers, as they prefer the round catchlight given by these softboxes. You can make yourself a great folding beauty dish just by removing the front and inner diffusers and adding one of the optional deflectors. What continues to make the Elinchrom units unique are the sets of deflectors – gold, silver and translucent that enable the softness / hardness and colour to be modified; fitting centrally over the flashtube at your chosen distance. Folding down like an umbrella, they are easily transported, or just kept clean in their included carrying bag. Rotalux Speedring with improved mechanics and extremely light weight, only 263 g. Extremely even light
Like all Elinchrome lighting shapers, the geometry of the Rotalux softboxes is precisely matched to the focal length and light pattern of all Elinchrom's studio flashes. The Rotalux Octa comes with removable internal and external diffusers so photographers can choose to use it with both diffusers in place, just the inner, just the outer, or with no diffusion at all, offering a range of lighting effects from the same modifier. Also, Elinchrom offers a variety of accessories, like grids, which allow further control over the direction and spread of light, making it an even more versatile tool.

Compatibility Rotalux Speedring (purchased separately)
The heart of Rotalux softboxes is the patented Rotalux bracket, which makes it possible to rotate the softbox in the frame. The Rotalux Speedring is designed to make mounting and use extremely easy. They can quickly and easily be folded together like an umbrella to be transported in a compact bag. The Rotalux Speedring is (not included) adapted for most flash brands on the market, which means that the softboxes can be mounted directly on other flash brands without any intermediate adapter. All Rotalux's unique features are maintained.


Great opportunities to vary the light character
By default, both outer and inner diffusers are included. Only by removing one or two diffusion cloths change the character of the light.
Deflector Set
Thanks to the centrally located umbrella mount on Elinchrom, Rotalux softboxes can be combined with Deflectors. The different materials in the deflector set create different light characteristics and can be used in combination with diffusion sheets or, if a harder light is desired, in a soft box without diffusion sheets.

Elinchrom Rotagrid
By supplementing the softbox with Rotagrid, the light can be controlled with high precision while maintaining the softbox's soft light image. A very popular accessory among portrait and fashion photographers who want to accentuate parts of the subject while at the same time blending less important parts of the image.
