Kaasaegsed plastist ilmutustankid suudavad temperatuuri üsna hästi hoida. Termiline šokk tekib tavaliselt eelsoojendatud lahuse ja toatemperatuuril oleva filmi kokkupuutel tankis. Eelsoojendusvanni ülesanne on tagada, et film ja tank oleksid korralikult soojendatud, et vältida temperatuurišokke, kui ilmuti sisse valatakse. Lisaks, kuigi temperatuur peaks olema võimalikult ühtlane, on 2-3°C kõikumine lubatud, kui keskmine temperatuur jääb vahemikku 37,8-38°C. Komplekt sisaldab kõiki vajalikke kemikaale, et ilmutada 12-20 135/36 filmi, kasutades lahjendatud lahuseid maksimaalselt 5 nädala jooksul. Kui kasutada 7-10 päeva jooksul ja hoida pimedates pudelites, on võimalik ilmutada kuni 20 filmi. Soovitame suurema efektiivsuse saavutamiseks ilmutada korraga 2-4 filmi.
