Eines der extremsten Weitwinkel-Zoomobjektiv für Kameras mit Leica L-Mount. Es wurde speziell für die Reise entwickelt und so hat Venus Optics einen Kompromiss zwischen dem kleinsten Objektiv seiner Klasse (weniger als 10cm) und dem geringen Gewicht (unter 500g) gefunden. Die Bildwinkel zwischen 102° (18mm) und 130° (10mm) bieten dem Fotografen genügend Freiheiten, um mit Leichtigkeit Landschafts- oder Architekturaufnahmen zu gestalten.
Das Objektiv besitzt 14 Elemente in 10 Gruppen mit 2 asphärischen Elementen und einem Element mit extra geringer Dispersion um außergewöhnlich hochwertige Aufnahmen zu erzielen. Dank der kurzen Naheinstellgrenze von nur 15cm sind Makroaufnahmen möglich, die von vorn bis hinten scharf wirken und deren Vordergrund extrem betont wird. Ein als Zubehör magnetischer Filterhalter dazu nimmt 100mm Rechteck-Filter auf (andere Extrem-Weitwinkel Objektive benötigen 150mm Rechteckfilter). Die Blende kann mit einem Schalter von Rastblende auf stufenlose Blendeneinstellung umgestellt werden, ideal für Foto- oder Videoaufnahmen. Bei Aufnahmen gegen die Sonne oder eine Lichtquelle ergibt sich dank der 5 Blendenlamellen ein perfekter 10-strahliger Reflex.
Bitte beachten: Das 10-18mm besitzt mit L-Mount Anschluß kein Hinterlinsen-Filtergewinde. Der entsprechende Graufilter passt deshalb nicht bei diesem Anschluß.
