The term IPL is an abbreviation for intense pulsed light. Philips Lumea illuminates the hair bulb with delicate pulses of light, which stimulates the hair follicle to change into a resting phase. As a result, hair naturally falls out and their regrowth is inhibited. Regular repetition of the treatment guarantees that the skin will remain smooth every day. The treatment to prevent hair regrowth is safe and gentle, even if it is carried out on delicate parts of the body. Philips Lumea has been tested in a clinical setting and developed in collaboration with dermatologists to allow easy and effective treatments at home.
Proven safe and effective treatments
Objective studies have shown a reduction in the amount of hair by at least 85% after just 3 treatments. The first 4 treatments should be carried out every 2 weeks, and after that time they should bring the desired results. To keep these results, it is enough to repeat the treatments every 4 weeks. Suitable for various types of skin and hair
Philips Lumea Prestige provides effective performance and easy and safe use in combination with various types of skin and hair. It works well with natural colored hair (dark blond, brown, black) and various skin tones (from very light to dark brown). As with other IPL treatments, Philips Lumea can not be used for white, gray, blonde or red hair, or for very dark skin. This is due to the necessity of maintaining a high contrast between the hair and skin pigment.
Built-in skin tone sensor
In order to ensure safety, the built-in skin tone sensor determines the skin's complexion at the beginning of each session and from time to time during the session. Detection of too dark skin will automatically stop the flashing.
